SMRC Reverse Direction

Sunday 16th September, 2018

Scottish Championship Car Racing organised by the SMRC, has a superb range of racing classes, a super-slick racing format with around 18 races to entertain you during an action-packed afternoon. This time around the SMRC racers will tackle the Reverse Circuit at Knockhill - 'A New Experience' more most of the Club's racers. Valuable Championship points will be up-for-grabs as the leading racers jostle for the top of the Championship standings, as we pass the half way mark in the season. Traditionally, this is when championship challenges are made and expect to see the best racers in each class battle hard at the front of the grid for those all-important race wins.

Event Information

It's the second visit this year to the reverse configuration of the Knockhill circuit, which brings some brand new challenges for the drivers. Some drivers have already sampled the track on Reverse test and track nights, but for the vast-majority Sunday will be like racing on a completely new circuit. You’d think, surely the track couldn’t be that different… right… it’s the same corners just ran in the opposite direction. But, trust us… it’s not. Of all the guys we’ve spoken too – everyone has commented on how different the track feels compared to the clockwise/traditional derivative. It’s will be interesting to see if the established SMRC orders in each class prevail on the Reverse Circuit or whether the new layout gives other competitors a chance to shine! Be here to find out! Look out as well for our very special display of Fords around the paddock in celebration of this iconic motoring brand. You'll see everything from Escorts, Fiestas and Focus's

How To Take Part: We've launched a new Online Clubstand System to give clubs complete control over their attendances at events. Club Admins can now create their own clubs and at a glance see how many of their members are signed up to events. Over time Knockhill will be adding more functionality to this system based on your feedback. For those already registered on the online system, you DO NOT need to register again. Simply login with your existing ID and password. To register simply follow the instructions below:

For Club Admins:

  • Simply visit https://www.knockhill.com/clubstand/clubs/ and register your club.
  • You will then be assigned a Club ID – please keep this safe as it will be needed by your members to sign up to the club.
  • Simply pass on your Club ID to your members which they will input when registering online and therefore linking them to your club.
  • Currently the only function of the admin page is to allow you to view the club members signed up for each event. We welcome any feedback you have on what you need from the system as admins. The goal is to make life easier for you all!
  • Individuals who are not part of a club must sign up as an admin first and then as a member using the Club ID provided, so you can then book into events.
  • Admins of car clubs must also sign up as a member using the steps below to confirm your own attendances.

For Club members

  • Visit https://www.knockhill.com/clubstand/members/ and click Register Here.
  • Please remember to use the Club ID provided by your Club’s admin.
  • After this you can now signup and buy tickets for the events using the individual event pages.
  • We have also added a “Season Pass Holder” tick box in the ticket section,  allowing Season Pass holders to register for an event without having to purchase a Showcar ticket.

If you have any questions or feedback please contact David Christie at davidc@knockhill.com

Additional points of note:

  • SMRC race days are great value for money with 8 hours or fast and furious action that will keep you and your family/friends and relatives enthralled from start to finish
  • You’ll see 120+ of Scotland’s top racing drivers compete in a wide variety of vehicles and Championships.
  • Spectacular viewing areas are available throughout the venue and multiple corners can be seen from several locations.
  • Remember to bring your camera, you’ll be amazed how close you can get to the action – and it’s a perfect way to showcase what you’ve been up to at Knockhill.
  • There’s also a family play park, picnic area and expanded Kids’ Zones at certain events (see event features); perfect for those moments when you need the kids to let off some steam.
  • Family and kids karting is also available at our 500m, outdoor, track (subject to availability).
  • Spectator car parking areas allow you to watch the action from the comfort of your car, when the weather takes a turn for the worse.
  • As well our two on-site restaurants, there are always a number of other outlets to purchase food and beverages from.
