Classic Racing Knockhill 12th & 13th June 2010

This meeting marks the start of a new era in Classic Racing.

• First visit by the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club to Knockhill in their 30th Anniversary Year
• The first Classics only Road Race meeting at Knockhill since the Bob Mac Memorial meetings of the 1990’s.
• The first rounds of the new 2010 ACU Classic Championship.
• The first time the ACU has recognised and endorsed a Classic Road Race Championship.
• The meeting has European status, open to solos and sidecars from all over Europe.

John Cronshaw - 500cc Unity BSA Goldstar

Six times UK Classic Champion. John’s legendary BSA Goldstar has been meticulously developed for over two decades, the result being the most competitive BSA Goldstar on the track today

Lea Gourlay - 500cc Summerfield Manx Norton

Classic Racer of the Year 2008 & 2009,ICGP Champion 2008 & 2009.The man to beat!!

Alan Oversby - 500cc Craven Manx Norton

2nd in 500cc Manx GP 2008, Winner CRMC 500cc National Series 2009

Fernando Mendes - 500cc Paton

Ex 125cc Grand Prix rider and runner up in the 1998 UK 125cc Championship. Fernando has ridden Classic Goldstars for a couple of seasons now and so is well versed with riding the older bikes. Fernando is having his first ride on Roger Winfield’s Paton at this meeting.

Mike Cooper - 500cc Dunnell Manx.

Rapidly making a name for himself in Classic racing, Mike finished in the top three in both 350cc and 500cc Championships last year and is seriously challenging the establishment of Lea Gourlay, Alan Oversby and Steve Tomes this year.

Gary Thwaites - 500cc Shelton Matchless G50

More familiar with success on Dave Watson’s big Norton Twins, Gary is now riding Richard Shelton’s 500 Matchless in addition to the Norton and lying third in the 500cc CRMC Championship after three rounds.

Ewan Hamilton - 500cc Matchless G50

Better known for riding the 250cc Suzuki twin to victory in the last three Classic Manx GP’s, Ewan is turning his attention to the four stroke singles and diving in at the deep end with the Knockhill round of the ACU UK Classic Championship.
