British Championship Classic Bike Racing - Sat 4th & Sun 5th June - 9am-5pm

After successfully launching the first ACU Classic Championship at Knockhill in 2010, the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club return to Scotland with round 4 of the 500cc Classic Championship and also the new for 2011, 350cc Post Classic Championship.

A packed thirty five race programme is lined up over the weekend giving Scotland a chance to see the best in Classic Racing on one the finest circuits north of the border.

Six times UK Classic Champion. John’s legendary BSA Goldstar has been meticulously developed for over two decades, the result being the most competitive BSA Goldstar on the track today.

 

Andrew Taylor - 500cc Dunnell Manx Norton

Enjoying his first season on the Tony Dunnell bikes Andy is rapidly making a name for himself in Classic racing and leading the ACU Championship at the half way stage.

Stu Hall - 350cc Maxton TZ Yamaha

Stu leads the ACU UK Post Classic 350 Championship at the halfway point in the season, despite a few handling problems early season, expect Stu to excel in Scotland the just the same as he does in England.

Stuart Gray - Eclipse 350cc Honda

Local man Stuart from Penicuik, must have more experience of Knockhill than anyone so expect him and St Andrew’s flag to be at the front in both the 350 Classic & Formula 750cc races.

Colin Lewis & Ian Nickels - Lewis NRE Triumph Sidecar

Concentrating on the 2011 Classic sidecar scene, Aberdeen’s Colin Lewis has quickly made his mark South of the border often on tracks he is seeing for the first time. Unbeaten at this meeting last year, Colin & Ian will once again be the ones to beat.

Gary Thwaites - 500cc Shelton Matchless G50

Voted Classic Racer of the year in 2010 and living up to the accolade in 2011, Gary rides both Dave Watson’s big Norton twin and Richard Shelton’s 500 Matchless this weekend.

Ewan Hamilton - 500cc Matchless G50

Better known for riding the 250cc Suzuki twin victory in three successive Classic Manx GP’s, patriotic Ewan has turned his attention to the four stroke singles and rides his G50 this weekend.

Simon Walsh - 350cc DWR Garfield Honda

Simon has had a superb start to the 2011 season and with a wealth of experience on the bike, remains unbeaten in the 350 twins class to date.
