Modified Live - Featuring Time Attack and European Drifting ChampionshipsTime Attack Series

Time Attack is a circuit based event whereby competitors drive hard against the clock to set the quickest lap time around a circuit.

Starting off in Japan, Time Attack, Super Lap and Tuner Battles were organised by the media as a proving ground to see the difference between street tuned cars, produced by the tuning industries most respected tuners.

Held at various circuits in Japan although mainly Tsukuba, Time Attack rose in popularity as the stakes began to rise and the tuners had to keep on developing new and improved machines with which to conquer their competition on track with. Since the early days things have moved on and there are now different levels of vehicles entering the competitions, from road cars to full-on specifically engineered Time Attack cars made mostly of carbon fibre as the sport has evolved. Its drivers normally consist of the racing industries finest, drafted-in by tuners to pilot these unlimited machines in the bid to become the quickest.

European Drifting Championships

Modified Live - Featuring Time Attack and European Drifting ChampionshipsThe ‘sport’ of drifting originated in Japan and quickly gained a massive fan base and cult status, which hugely accelerated when the top cars and drivers starred in a Hollywood movie entitled “The Fast and the Furious” that centred around the colourful, tyre smoking cars and starred action man actor Vin Diesel. A second, follow up film, “Tokyo Drift” greatly helped to capture the imagination of fans and a great display of action is expected when the high powered cars hit the Knockhill track.

The Scottish public will have the opportunity to view the breathtaking sight of seeing high powered cars, deliberately being thrown into lurid broadside slides, at speeds reaching 110mph, whilst approaching a series of Knockhill’s trickiest bends!!

For the spectator, it is an exciting and thrilling viewing experience, with door to door performances, near misses, high speeds, unbelievable angles of drift and plenty of tyre smoke. Combine this with glamorously decorated professional cars and you have a motorsport event for all the family.
