Q. How long is the gift voucher valid?
A. They are valid for eight months from date of purchase.
Q. Must I use the voucher before this date?
A. Yes, although we will be happy to extend your voucher at a charge of £10 per month for a maximum of 6 months. After this time your voucher will be expired.
Q. How soon will I receive my voucher?
A. If your order is placed before 2pm, we will send it out same day. We always do our best to get your gift delivered on time. If you are really last minute you also have the option to select 'next day delivery' for Royal Mail Special Delivery or call us to arrange a voucher by email. We always post the voucher out in a plain unbranded envelope so it's safe enough to send to your home address. We are also happy to post the voucher to an alternative address for you!
Q. What does the voucher look like?
A. We always send the voucher directly to you, the purchaser, unless you specifically tell us otherwise. The voucher is A5 in size as shows the full range for the voucher you purchased. This helps the driver decide which experience to choose if you have left the choice open.
Q. Why do you need the name and address of the person I am buying for?
A. When you purchase online or over the phone we ask for the Pupils name and address and the Purchasers name and address. We always send the voucher to the Purchaser. When the lucky recipient calls us to book a date they quote the reference number and we confirm the details.
Q. Is my gift voucher refundable?
A. Gift vouchers are non refundable, however they are fully transferable.
Q. What happens if I pick the wrong experience?
A. Our 1st GEAR to TOP GEAR voucher range is completely flexible! So, if you have chosen the wrong experience, we will be happy to change this to any other experience within the same price range, should the lucky driver prefer! You can also upgrade to another gear at any time. Gift giving with confidence!
Q. Do I have to arrange a date for the experience?
A. No, you can leave the voucher open and allow the driver to arrange a suitable date and time.
Q. How do I arrange a date and time to take part in my experience?
A. You can contact us by telephone 7 days a week from 9am until 6pm (5pm at weekends). Alternatively you can book a date for your experience online through our website, just follow the on screen instructions, you will need your voucher reference number!
Q. Can family/friends come along to spectate?
A. Yes, the more the merrier.
Q. How early should I arrive to do my course?
A. Approximately 20mins before your allocated briefing time.
Q. Is there an age restriction?
A. Yes for all driving experiences drivers must 17 yrs + with a full licence. Passenger rides for children are suitable for 8 yrs + (min. 4ft 2")
Q. Is there a height/weight restriction?
A. There are no restrictions although those over 6ft 4in or 18-20st may find the single seater racing car difficult, other alternatives are available.
Q. Do I need a full driving licence?
A. Yes, a full current valid UK driving licence is required for our car courses (licences from other countries may be accepted please contact office to confirm), and a full current valid bike licence held for at least one year for our bike courses. You do not need to bring your licence with you however you will be required to sign that you possess one.
Q. Am I restricted to the experiences within my voucher band?
A. No. You can change your voucher to any of the experiences available. If the experience is of a higher value the difference is payable at the time of booking.
Q. What sort of clothes/footwear is best?
A. Dress for comfort and the outdoors i.e. Jeans and trainers.
Q. What sort of clothing is required for the motorcycle courses?
A. Full leathers are required. One piece suits or two piece zipped together. Helmet, gloves and boots to be worn. All items can be hired from Knockhill at an additional cost. Please note we are not able to sell fuel from the circuit please ensure you refuel as close to Knockhill as possible.
