McRae Rally Challenge 2020

Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th October, 2020

Knockhill and the McRae Family regretfully announce the postponement of the McRae Rally Challenge event. In addition, the Evening with the Stars and the Celebratory Dinner have also been postponed. A summer 2021 date is being worked on and will be announced once availability of the McRae family, key stars, the venue and host hotel are all confirmed. With the current pandemic, enforced social distancing and the limitations on rally driving itself, the only option available to us is to postpone. Hopefully fans will understand and choose to join us in 2021. The Knockhill team will be in touch soon via email with all your relevant ticketing options. Thanks again for all your support.

The weekend of 3rd and 4th October 2020 will see Scottish and British rallying gear up for the biggest celebrations since Colin McRae became Britain’s first World Rally Champion in 1995. The event, will commemorate 25 years since those famous victory celebrations elevated British Rallying to world class levels. Taking centre stage over the weekend will be the second running of the invitational McRae Rally Challenge, last run at Knockhill in 2015.

Event Information

The McRae Rally Challenge will incorporate a huge variety of attractions, combining static displays with dramatic on-stage rally action. The McRae Rally Challenge event is a special invitational for leading national and international rally crews, which will feature two one-day single venue rallies, a power-stage finale on Sunday as well as a Junior rally event.

There will also be a Night of the Stars forum preceding the event on Friday evening and a 25th anniversary commemorative dinner take place on the Saturday evening. Both will  start at 7.30pm each night and will take place at the Keavil House Hotel, Crossford by Dunfermline. A galaxy of rally stars are expected to attend both evenings as we celebrate the success of Colin, Alister (British & Asia Pacific Rally Champion) and Jimmy (5 time British Rally Champion, as well as the successes and achievements of those in attendance.

Tickets for both evenings are strictly limited and an inital quota for both the Night of the Stars forum and Q & A (£20 each), and the Dinner (£70 each) are now on sale.

The highlight, however, will undoubtedly be a parade of Colin’s cars as organisers are reaching out to owners to gather the biggest collection of competition cars ever seen in Scotland which have been driven by the 1995 World Champion during his meteoric career

Interest has already been received from the car clubs of the makes that Colin rallied, including many Subaru and Ford owners clubs – any club wishing to be part of the event should email their interest to duncanv@knockhill.co.uk in the first instance.

Book your tickets now for one of the headline-events taking place at Knockhill in 2020.
