Knockhill Kids Karting Club provides kids between 8-15yrs the opportunity to come along on a regular basis. Learn and compete with friends, join our 'Beat the Stig' leader board, gain loads of Karting experience and get lots of special karting offers and discounts.
Lewis Hamilton started his racing career in Karting Championships... who knows maybe one of our Kids club members is a Formula One champion in the making too!! The Karting Club allows our members to improve their karting techniques and lap times under the close guidance of expert karting professionals. We use the latest up to date timing equipment and printed lap times are a great way to track your improvement. Our leader board is a great incentive show off your quickening lap times and adds a little healthy competition.
Kids from 8-11yrs and over 4'2" (127cm) will be in charge of our nifty ‘LR5’ Sodi Little Racer Karts, these are capable of speeds up to 25mph. Older kids aged 12-15yrs and over 5'2" (157cm) will be driving an LPG powered GT5 Pro Kart with a top speed of 50mph. Our Karts are some of the latest quality models with excellent safety features for you peace of mind.
Monthly Kids Club Sessions
Visiting time approximately 1 hour, full payment in advance of £15 is required for each Kids Club Session. Sessions will run at least once per month on selected weekend days term time and weekdays during the School holidays. You will receive a membership card that must be signed by a Knockhill team member during each visit.
Q. How old do need to be?
A. 8 – 15 years old.
Q. I have no karting experience, can I join the club?
A. Yes, a full introduction and safety briefing will be given and the aim of the club is to gain experience!
Q. How do I join the club?
A. You can join at Knockhill or purchase your membership online or over the phone.
Q. What Karts would I go in?
A. Our LR5 Cadet Karts are suitable for ages 8+ with a minimum height of 4’2” (127cm). Our GT5 Pro Karts are suitable for ages 12+ with a minimum height of 5’2” (157cm)
Q. Does it all run all year?
A. Yes! Your membership is valid for 12 months from January to December. The season runs from April-September with awards in October. In the months of October – March we hold practise sessions to gain vital experience and knowledge.
Q. Do I need to pre book?
A. Yes, you need to book into each club session every time. We do not automatically get book you into each session.
Q. How do I book?
A. You can call us on 01383 723337. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
Q. Can I add other people to my booking?
A. Yes! As long as they are current club members
Q. How much notice do I have to give if I need to cancel my karting event or move the date?
A. Your booking is non-refundable and you will forfeit this should you choose not to continue with your booking. We are happy to change your booking to an alternative club date date without penalty provided you can give us 14 days' notice.
Q. Is the Track exclusive to my booking?
A. The booking is exclusive to Karting Club Members
Q. Will I receive confirmation of my karting booking?
A. Yes. Once your booking has been secured we will send you an email confirmation containing details of your event.
Q. What if the weather is bad?
A. We are an outdoor venue and are very experienced and set up to run in wet weather. We provide all drivers with full waterproof suits offering extra protection from the rain. If the weather becomes extreme and affects the safety of your event we may have to postpone and reschedule your event. We always attempt to contact you at the earliest opportunity and rebook for another date suitable for you.
Q. Will I be entitled to a refund if my kart event is cancelled due to the weather?
A. No. An alternative Club Date will be allocated, this may not be within the same month.
Q. What happens if I pick the wrong event or wish to change the event once booked?

Q. Can family/friends come along to spectate?
A. Yes, the more the merrier. There is indoor and outdoor viewing area. We also have a children’s play park beside the kart centre. Please check with us for opening hours. Unfortunately Dogs are not allowed at the circuit due to motorsport regulations.
Q. How early should I arrive at Knockhill Karting Centre?
A. You must arrive at least 20 mins before your booked time to allow for safety briefing and to get suited up so you are ready to start for your booked time. Late arrival may result in a loss of tracktime.
Q. Is there an age/height restriction?

Q. Is there a weight restriction?
A. We work with an advised maximum weight of approximately 18 stone for Karting activities
Q. What sort of clothes/footwear is best?
A. Please dress for comfort and the outdoors. Flat shoes are required for Karting, high heels, sandals, platform shoes and work boots are not permitted. Drivers may be refused if appropriate footwear is not worn and unfortunately no refund will be given. We will provide you with full race suits, helmets, gloves and neck braces as standard. Waterproof outer suits will be provided in wet weather.
