Slide Rules At Knockhill

Families and motorsport fans who flocked to Knockhill Racing Circuit today (Sunday 18th May) were treated to the incredulous site of some of Europe’s most talented ‘Drift Drivers’ deliberately executing power slides at over 100mph into and around some of the famous track’s trickiest bends.

Around 4,000 spectators basked in glorious sunshine as competition heated up on the tarmac.

It was Scotland’s only opportunity to witness the phenomenal display of high speed car control as ‘Powerslide Live: The European Drift Championship’ arrived at the popular venue with all the glitz and razzmatazz or a giant circus of colourful cars and burning rubber.

Circuit spokesman Ray Smith said “ This was the first time that Knockhill has promoted this exciting spectacle as a full day event and it was a huge success, with the enthusiastic fans cheering on their own favourite car and driver combination.” Added Ray “ This is a real crowd pleaser and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Knockhill next year.”
