CHARLIE TURNS ORANGE AND WINS THE DARE!

Over £400 was raised by ex Fiesta racer Charlie Thornton at the SMRC event on Sunday 31st May in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support. Charlie, who is the XR2s drivers representative, took a dare from fellow racers and has emailed in his thanks to everyone and has the following message for all who contributed to this worthy Cause;

“Could you put a thank you piece on the Knockhill website for the generosity of everyone at the SMRC race meeting on 31st May 2009.I am Charlie Thornton, the Scottish XR2s drivers rep and, following a dare by Stuart Scott and Ally Mackever, I have had my hair and beard dyed a bright orange in an attempt to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Armed with this, some sponsorship forms and a collection box, I was able to raise £400 for them in the paddock and hairpin areas. I’d like to thank everyone for their fantastic support, adding to what I have collected at the DDMC races at Croft on the 17th May 2009, friends and family, and work it now takes our total raised to just over a £1000. I will be travellling to Brands Hatch in support of the Scottish drivers taking part in the BRSCC Ford Fiesta championship on 13th and 14th June and I hope to further increase our total.”

All at Knockhill wish Charlie the best of luck for his future fund raising at events up and down the Country.
