Hobbs leads the way… for a moment!

A fired up Dennis Hobbs was gunning for victory when he got behind the wheel of his celebrity Mini Cooper only a few moments ago. Hobbs showed his eagerness from the outset by zooming off the line on the green flag lap, overtaking several cars in the process.

Hobbs carried his enthusiasm into the race itself, vying for the lead off the start until a coming together ended his race forcing him to return to the pits on the opening lap.

“Perhaps l should have been a little more patient, but l seen an opportunity to go for the lead and went for it. Unfortunately there were some heavy vibrations coming form the rear of the car so l thought l’d bring her back in one piece.

“‘ I’m proud of my overall performance and l think l’ve upheld the reputation of bike racers here this weekend. I’ve just got to say a big thanks to Knockhill and to Tynecastle Garages for the opportunity and if another opportunity arises in the future l’d love to do it.”

The action continues here this weekend with the first of two British GT Championship races about to get underway. It looks highly likely that a new lap record will be set today with a number of cars aleady posting times quicker than the current record.
