August World sidecar event cancelled

Due to a surprising and unforeseen announcement from the FiM,  the Scottish round of the World Sidecar Championship at Knockhill is not now happening.  The FiM visited the Fife Circuit at the start of June and the Track Inspector was full of praise about the nature of Knockhill, its layout, facilities and challenges. The FiM have not advised yet as to why the round is no longer coming to Scotland which is a disappointment for all.

Event Director, Stuart Gray, said “Hosting a Grand Prix would have been our first ever event of this statue and it would have had great kudos and prestige so getting the call from the FiM was a bolt out of the blue. However,  we are in discussions with the KDMC on the event weekend and will announce shortly what the new format will be.  We are pleased that the support for the event from Fife Council is continuing to ensure the event helps promote Fife in its celebratory year.”
