Shakey posts a sub 50 lap in morning warm-up

MCE British Championship leader Shane Byrne scorched his way to a 49.964 second lap this morning in warm-up. The HM Plant Honda rider who qualified in 9th position yesterday will be looking for a repeat performance later this afternoon.

The opening race for the MCE British Superbike Championship is schedule to start at 1.30pm. Had Shakey posted that time yesterday he would have been in pole position, as such he’ll have to fight his way through the field to score a podium.

Colchester Kawasaki Rider Garry Mason and Samsung Crescent Suzuki rider John Hopkins were 2nd and 3rd quickest respectively. Meanwhile the man who starts on pole for the 1st Superbike race, Tommy Hill, could only manage ninth fastest time in 50.867, albeit quicker than his pole setting time yesterday of 52.867.

Tickets for the MCE British Superbike Championship event will be available on the gate all day. As mentioned previously Superbike action starts at 1.30pm this afternoon, with the final race scheduled for 4.20pm. We have a jam-packed 9 race programme today with action coming from GP125s, Sidecars, Supersport 600, Superstock 600, Superstock 1000 and MCE British Superbikes.

Look forward to seeing you all here!
