Shedden tops free practice one

Fifer Gordon Shedden got his BTCC assault off to the perfect start today by topping the timesheets in the opening practice session. Flash set a best time of 57.120 to pip Tom Chilton and team-mate Matt Neal into 2nd and 3rd respectively. Current Championship leader Mat Jackson could only manage the 7th quickest time, while Jason Plato endured a miserable session finishing in 19th place.

It’s early days in the British Touring Car event at Knockhill, second free practice starts at 12.10pm this afternoon with qualifying live from 3.05pm. Expect both Jackson and Plato to improve significantly as the day progresses, making the qualifying session a close fought affair.
