President’s son all set to race at Knockhill on Sunday 3rd June!

Tarran Mackenzie, the youngest son of triple Superbike champion Niall Mackenzie is gearing up for Knockhill on Sunday having just had his best finish of 2012 season at Snetterton in Norfolk.

The diminutive Scot is racing his Redline KTM in the Knockhill Motor Sports Club 125 races, the Club that his Dad is President of!  Dad Niall said:  “Tarran’s 7th place on Sunday was an incredible ride having just come back from a leg injury and he is really looking forward to racing on what he sees as his home circuit.”

Club chairman Stuart Gray said, “We are all really looking forward to Tarran’s return as he competes in our event, as a warm-up for the BSB in June.  Last year he endured the ups and downs of bike sport, securing his best ever finish at BSB in June with a 4th place, but tumbled at front of the pack at our pre-BSB Knockhill Club meeting, just avoiding injury.

Tarran’s spirit is amazing, he is always smiling and I’m sure with him being older and wiser, he will be going for podium finishes at both our meeting on Sunday and at the British Superbikes later this month.”

This weekend’s Knockhill Motorsports Club event has enjoyed another bumper entry, with strong interest across all classes, as many riders look for some final BSB practice. The Superstock 600 class is over subscribed and Superbikes and Clubman classes are looking really strong too.

The action starts at 8.30am with qualifying and racing from 11am. Adult admission is £12, concession admission is £6.
