If it’s racing action you want, it has to be Rallycross!

The MSA Monster Energy British Rallycross Championship in association with MakTrak, heads to Scotland this weekend (Sunday 12th May) for a feverishly frantic day of racing that will see ten different racing classes compete in up to sixty races. If it’s racing action you are after, then attending the Rallycross event at Knockhill will provide that in abundance.

Round 3 of this year’s Championship will see Scottish duo Andy and Marc Scott compete at their home event. The father and son, Albatec Racing duo hail from Dumfries and both are very keen to perform on home soil. Andy Scott (father) has a great record at Knockhill having taken his debut Supercar class victory in 2010 driving his Peugeot 306.  Whist son Marc, is the current leader in the RX150 Championship and looking for his third win of the season this weekend. Scott senior, making a guest appearance from his regular FIA European Rallycross Championship commitments had this to say about the weekend:

“I’m very excited about returning to race at Knockhill, as the track has very special memories for me. It’s where I won my first ever Supercar race in the Peugeot 306, so I’m hoping that history repeats itself. It’s always fantastic to race at your home event, where the local support is overwhelming.”

Andy Scott competing in the Supercar class knows that this weekend will provide him with a stern test. British Rallycross heavyweights such as Pat Doran, Kevin Proctor and Julian Godfrey (2012 Champion) are all expected to enter. Indeed, both Proctor and Godfrey sit top of the 2013 Championship standings heading to Knockhill.

Starring alongside the MSA Supercar Championship will be a number of classes including:

– MSA Supernational Championship
– Swift Sport Championship
– Hot Hatch Championship
– RX150 Championship
– BMW Mini Championship
– MSA Junior Rallycross Championship (Suzuki Swifts)
