Knockhill Managing Director Jillian Shedden and members of the Knockhill Events Team dropped in to meet the key members of Scotland’s charity funded Air Ambulance based at Perth Airport to adopt it as Knockhill’s main chosen charity for 2014. Knockhill receives 100’s of charity requests per year and all are supported through the donation of event tickets and several charities also organise fund raising events at the Fife Circuit, but the Air Ambulance will be Knockhill’s main focus for active fund raising this year.

The Air Ambulance provides a valuable rescue and patient transfer service for Scotland and since its launch in May 2013 has been involved in over 200 emergency call-outs. It costs approximately £30 000 a week to provide this life-saving service and it is funded entirely through Public donations. Knockhill MD Jillian Shedden said “The Air Ambulance is the perfect charity for Knockhill to adopt and we are keen to host a number of fund raising activities for them this season. We will have the traditional can shaking at events, but we also want to be more creative and host a number of higher profile activities at key events, such as the at the British Superbikes event on June 27th – 29th”.

SCAA Head of Fundraising Sally Cameron said ” SCAA is delighted that Knockhill has adopted us as their Charity of the Year. We rely on the support of the corporate sector along with trusts & foundations and the communities we serve to keep us flying. We look forward to working with the staff and customers of Knockhill over the coming year.”
