The 2015 Super Lap Scotland Championship has attracted it’s biggest ever entry for the season opener, with 35 competitors spread across all 6 classes. With an average power output of 400hp per car, an estimated 15000hp will be unleashed upon Knockhills 1.3 mile circuit this Sunday (19th).
The series which aims to create a level playing field through its class structure, which is based on the power to weight ratio of each vehicle, has received a surge of interest as it heads into it’s third season.
Championship Coordinator Rory Butcher said;”We have pushed really hard over the past year to create a fair and fun series for drivers who enjoy pushing their cars to the limit but don’t want to race door to door in their machinery. You can expect mightily close competition from the Class E (160hp/tonne) competitors right up through to our Pro Class (450hp/tonne) monsters!”.
A car to look out for is Andy Forrest’s Subaru Impreza which has an unknown power input, however in 2014 it clocked the fastest Quarter Mile Drag time of any road going saloon car in the World, with a time of 7.744 sec.
