With only 11 days to the Dunlop BTCC raceday sponsored by Lokring Northern (UK) at Knockhill we thought we’d use Rob Austin as our 11 day countdown marker. Rob, sporting the No.11 on his Handy Motorsport Toyota Avenisis for 2016 has become one of the most popular drivers on the BTCC circuit.
In part, due to his social media efforts in his early days in the BTCC and of course, his all-action style on track. Austin, always a strong performer at Knockhill – where he has enjoyed podium success on several occasions and even enjoyed a BTCC pole back in 2013 – behind the wheel of his famous Audi A4 nicknamed Sherman. Indeed, Sherman may also be making a return to the BTCC this year after all – as Austin has offered the car to Dan Welch after his Proton suffered severe damage during the last round at Snetterton.
If you a Rob Austin fan, make sure you are here on 13/14 August to see him in action. Tickets for the BTCC event can be booked online via the Knockhill.com website; alternatively, tickets will be available at the gate throughout the weekend.
