MacPherson snatches Pro-Am pole from Charlie Corner

Charlie Corner looked odds-on to pull the English level in their battle with the Scots during today’s qualification session for the Scotland Vs England Pro-Am Challenge. The Englishman led the way through most of the session before Iain McPherson (8) snatched top spot with little under four minutes left.

Not to be outdone, however, Corner (66) posted a 1:06.058s lap to retake the lead in the dying moments. MacPherson though wouldn’t be denied as he posted a 1:05.896s lap to take pole for tomorrow’s race by just 0.162s.

Iain Duffus said: “It’s been great fun, and nice to see all these lads again.”

Asked whether the English stood a chance tomorrow, Duffus exclaimed: “Absolutely not, they’ll get pumped.”
