The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
Specifically, Knockhill Racing Circuit stood out for providing a supportive environment for the military; veterans; wounded, injured and sick; military spouses and partners; Reservists; and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers. In addition, its work with Mission Motor Sport was recognised, as was the company policy of discounted admission for serving personnel and veterans; and its support of Armed Forces Day with a special race day.
Free provision of Safety Consultancy and Paramedic crew for the Race the Runway event at Leuchars Station also demonstrated Knockhill’s support. In short, Knockhill has delivered on its Armed Forces Covenant pledges and fulfilled the criteria to take further steps up the ladder of support with a well-deserved Silver Award
