Bathgate’s Marino Franchitti qualified his Dyson-Mazda second in the LMP2 class, and fourth overall, for today’s latest round of the American Le Mans Series at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
The 30-year-old Scot, partnered by American Butch Leitzinger, clocked a best of 1min 33.513secs on the three-mile circuit to finish 0.764s behind the Fernandez Acura of LMP2 polesitters Luis Diaz and Adrian Fernandez.
At the front of the grid, Simon Pagenaud qualified his De Ferran Acura on pole position edging out Aussie David Brabham’s Highcroft Acura by 0.7s with a lap of 1m30.645s.
