Geddie ready for Monaco debut

While most eyes will be on Jenson Button as he bids to extend his lead in the Formula One World Championship, Aberdeen 18-year-old Glynn Geddie will make his race debut round the daunting Monaco Grand Prix circuit.

The Scot, in his first full year racing in the British Porsche Carrera Cup, has clinched a deal to contest Sunday’s Porsche Supercup, the official Formula One support race.

“It’s a real dream come true,” the talented young Scot, part of the Team Parker Racing operation, admitted today, “and a great opportunity. I watched the grand prix two years ago but it’ll be an experience to learn the track in 45 minutes of free practice.

“Watching F1 cars here and racing are two completely different things. One small mistake there and you’re in trouble; there’s no margin for mistakes. But it’s a terrific chance to race with the best Porsche drivers in the world and show them what I can do.”
