Adam celebrates 26th birthday with Ginetta drive.

Scottish motor sport fans heading to Knockhill for the British Touring Car Championship this weekend are in for a treat – as Kirkcaldy’s very own Jonny Adam is set to take to the track as a guest driver in the Michelin Ginetta G50 Cup!
Adam, who competed in the Airwaves BMW in last year’s British Touring Car Championship and was twice Seat Cupra Champion in 2007 and 2008 will also celebrate his 26th birthday on Saturday.
“What better birthday present than to be out on my home track in front of all my friends and family behind the wheel of a Ginetta G50!
“I’ve tested the car this week, but it’s my first time in a GT car and is slightly different to BTCC-spec touring car. Its great to be trying something new and I can’t wait to get out there and see what I can do,” commented Jonny.
Inside the venue the vast paddock space is beginning to fill up with trucks and marquees housing some of the race machinery that will be on show this weekend.
Another young Fife driver hoping to put in a performance this weekend is Knockhill driving instructor Rory Butcher. Rory will take to the wheel of a Porsche 911 in the Porsche Carrera Cup and is really looking forward to this weekend.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to remind everyone what l can do. Racing in the GT Championship this year has been brilliant and just made me hungrier for more success,” said an excited Butcher.
Join thousands of motor sport enthusiasts at Knockhill this weekend. It promises to be an exceptional show and some of the racing on offer is the best you’ll see anywhere in the UK.
Tickets will be on sale all week long with box office collection service now in operation. Advanced discounts apply online although tickets will be available at the gate over the weekend.
