Mackenzie: BSB winner impossible to predict!

On a recent visit to Knockhill, triple Superbike Champion Niall Mackenzie reckoned this year’s BSB round was absolutely impossible to predict. The Scot, now based in Leicestershire always gets excited about his home round and this year is no different.

“If you have been watching British Superbikes this year, it’s been a completely different script at each and every round. We’ve had five or six different winners already this year, it’s impossible to predict.

“That’s a good thing! There is a good mix of riders out there, making the championship really competitive. But l have to say at the moment l don’t have a clue who will win around Knockhill,” said Niall.

When quizzed on how he though stars like John Hopkins, Shakey Byrne and Kiyonari would handle the Knockhill circuit Niall quipped:

“It’s a real riders circuit, it’s got everything you need and l’m sure all the boys will enjoy it. It’s a ‘cheeky’ track and has it’s little quirks, but it’s great to ride. Some of those guys have raced on scary tracks all over the world, l’m pretty sure they’ll be fine.”

Niall will be at Knockhill this weekend supporting his son, Tarran, as he bids for GP125 honours and although the young Scot is now based down south, according to his Dad, he’s Scottish through and through.

“Taz loves Knockhill and he had a run out here earlier this year, so he’ll be there with the St.Andrews cross on his helmet looking for a home win.”

Tickets for the MCE British Superbike Championship ADT Fire and Security round can be purchased via the Knockhill website. Tickets will also be available at the gate.

Remember, Superbike raceday takes place this Sunday, which is also Father’s day. So we suggest you treat your Dad to a tyre smoking, petrol fumed, Superbike bonding session he’ll never forget!
