China flight to race at SMRC meeting on Sunday 8th April

Former track day driver Paul Kopec has been bitten by the car racing bug so much that he is making a special journey back from China for the first car race meeting of the year this weekend. Despite being on the other side of the world, his race car and gear are all being organized via long distance calls with top race prep team GBR ahead of Sundays event. Paul, from Glasgow, will be out in a Ray Formula Ford, similar to title favourite Ali Dow from Glasgow.

With 16 cars entered, the Formula Ford races are the best attended in recent years with quality cars and drivers making it one of the hardest fought championships this year. The Celtic Speed Mini Cooper Cup has a very strong entry, as does the classics, all of which bodes well for another vintage season of SMRC racing.

Action starts at 10am, adult entry £12, concessions £6, under 12s free – discounted advanced tickets available on line.
