The Official Scottish Motor Show returns to Knockhill on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June. Check out what’s on below!
Motor Zone – The motor show zone is as busy as ever with 20 brands represented; We will have first showings in the UK of new models, first Scottish showings and new brands being launched to the Scottish car buying Public. Marques present so far are SEAT UK, Ford UK, Peugeot UK, Mercedes, Morgan, Ginetta, ALFA, MG, Fiat, Land Rover UK, Honda UK, Smart, Jeep UK, Kia, Subaru, Sanyongg, Skoda, Great Wall UK, Infiniti UK, Abarth.
Scottish Road Safety Zone – in association with Road Safety Scotland – major presence by all the emergency services with many interactive challenges for visitors to try. Promoting their safety message of “Race on track, stay safe on the roads”
Supercar Zone – There will be two sessions each day of some of the world’s most exotic super cars being put through their paces on track including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mazerati, Lotus and Porsche.
World class Stunt Shows – We have Kevin Carmichael – ex world champion performing amazing bike stunts and driving skills in his synchronized Mazda MX5 display. Also performing is Terry Grant – multiple world and Guinness Book of Record holder performing unbelievable driving stunts on 4 and 2 wheels in his Legend and Nissan Juke. Terry will be trying to break his own record for the most number of people in a car whilst on two wheels!
Team Scot Drift – Scotland’s top drifting team from the British Drifting Championships will perform both days with their synchronized stunt driving with tyre smoking stunts. The craze and sport is straight from Japan where it is huge!
Air Show – The famous Jim McTaggart will be in his Bi-plane will be performing his stunts in the sky! New for 2012, Jim will be performing precision flying and target bursting balloons above the famous Knockhill circuit.
FREE Exhibitor Track Car Rides – Our ARDS Instructors will take you for a lap of our famous circuit in one of the latest car models supplied by our Motor Show Exhibitors! This gives the Scottish Motor Show its unique MOVING MOTOR SHOW format when visitors can see the latest models and go in one too!
FREE 4 x 4 rides – Experience our extreme 4×4 course in one of our Jeeps, its completely free and all the family can take part! 60 foot descents, water crossings and side slopes, you will never had so much fun at 5mph!
Bike Zone – See the Knockhill Motor Sports Club bike and sidecar racers out on track in the race bike demo – amazing 170mph bike demos! Also in the bike zone are the McIntosh Mini Motos, the junior Motor GP stars will be racing at the trioval!
Arrive and Drive Teen Drive – only £10 for all 14-17 year olds! Drive one of our Arnold Clark dual control Corsas with a driving instructor giving your junior driver of the future their first driving lesson !
Arrive & Drive Karting and FATHERS DAY CHALLENGE! – have a go on our cadet or pro karts! Also, check out our McStig Challenge; the McStig will be setting times during the day, the fastest cadet driver will win a free kids party for 4 and the fastest FATHERS DAY DAD will win an Aston Martin experience!
Scottish Rally display and demo – The best selection of Scottish Rally sport cars for all ages from the Junior Rally 1000 demos in Nissan Micra’s, to the Peugeot 205 challenge car, Civic Type Rs, John McRone’s IRC Fiesta R2 to Euan Thorburns’s WRC FOCUS! All on display and on track too.
CHAS Mini Cooper GP Race – The Celtic Mini Cooper Cup racers will be taking part in a very special race for CHAS. You can have the chance to be a passenger on the Sunday for a donation on the day – limited spaces, first come first served on the day.
Ladies Day Sunday – visit the RPM Display (Relaxation, Pampering and Make Over) – Back by popular demand – massage, nails, hair, jewellery, make up! Something for the ladies J
Land Rover Experience – new for 2012 – the Land Lover Experience with amazing 25 foot high ramps, seesaw and other obstacles – try out the latest Land Rovers on this spectacular course!
Radio Controlled Challenge – a radio controlled SEAT (15 inches long) will be racing a real SEAT Cupra R around the tri oval – who do you think will win?!
Peter Bowsher Woodcarver – the amazing talent of the famous woodcarver, Peter will be carving Gordon Shedden’s Honda Touring Car live during the weekend – you have to see it to believe the skills of this man!
Competitions – There’s lots of competitions on the day, win a lap in a Ferrari, an Aston Martin, a Seat Leon FR, a Honda Touring Car and the ultimate supercar – a Ford GT with Gordon Shedden. You can enter all of these on the day!
Reverse Direction – new for 2012, all track activities will be reverse direction, including the FREE track rides, get a lap on the new circuit!
