Modified Live this weekend!

Modified Live the Scottish Spectacular comes to Knockhill Racing Circuit this weekend (Sunday 10th June). The popular modified event, which tours the UK, visiting some of the top racing circuits in the country. This weekend promises to be a spectacular show with the European Drifting Championships and Time Attack series taking centre stage.

The European Drifting Championship provides some awe inspiring action. 100mph entry speeds, the tyres squeal and belch out smoke as drivers literally drive the circuit horizontally. It takes extreme skill and precision to compete at this level and these boys are at the top of their game. Come along and watch the awesome sight of European Drifting at Knockhill.

The Time Attack series is all about speed, so much speed in fact that the cars are tuned to within an inch of their lives. 900bhp+ is the norm in the wacky world of Time Attack. The aim, to navigate the circuit in the quickest time possible, racing only against the undulations of the track and the stopwatch. Despite this only being round 2 of the 2012 Championship, almost 4 seconds have been shaved off last year’s lap records. The 2011 lap record for Time Attack at Knockhill was 55.024secs, set by Gavin Renshaw in a Mitsubishi Evo… let’s see how long that lasts this weekend!!??

This year, there will also be other elements to keep you amused on an action-packed day. For the first time in 9 years, we’ll have pickup truck racing on the 1.3 mile championship circuit. Ably supported by Civic Cup racing, Europe’s fastest growing affordable racing series.

Former World Stunt riding champion, Kevin Carmichael will be on hand to showcase his unique stunts on both 2 and 4 wheels. If you’ve never seen Kevin perform, let’s just say that he is worth the admission fee alone.

Elsewhere at Modified Live we’ve got a massive collection of show cars from all your favourite hot hatch marques and a few others. It’s also round 3 of the Knockhill Car Club Championship, we expect to see some unbelievably shiny motors as the car clubs compete for those all important Show ‘n’ Shine trophies.

Adult admission is £15, Concessions are £8 and kids under 12 go free. Advanced ticket discounts are available until midnight on Saturday night. Book now to secure your discount and your place, at one of the biggest modified events to hit Knockhill this year.
