Mazda mania at Knockhill this weekend!

With 64 racing Mazda’s entered and an anticipated 150 Owners Club cars on display and paraded on track on Sunday, this weekend promises to be heaven for all fans of the iconic Mazda MX5. For over 20 years, the deminutive 2 door sports car has proved popular both as a race car and road car, and this Sunday will see over 200 versions on show and racing door to door within the Ma5da MX5 Championship and the Ma5da MX-150R sereies.

The event kicks off at 11.45am on Saturday 21st July with the first of 13 races scheduled including the Ma5da MX150R championship. the Scottish Formula Fords, Legends and the hyper competitive Celtic Speed Mini Cooper Cup. Also topping the bill are the national Legends with an impressive 25 cars entered. Such is the appeal of the class, entries have been received from as far away as Kent, Essex, Elvington, Bury and Powys. What will make the races even more appealing is that the leading Scottish and Knockhill regulars will be going head to head with Scottish stars Gerrard McCosh (Biggar), Aly Hunter (Kirkliston) and Ross Mickle (Edinburgh) all out to show that the local racers know the way round Knockhill better than the National competitors.

The action continues on Suday at 8.30am with a further 16 races scheduled. Adult admission on Saturday is £5, Sunday admission is £12 with weekend tickets available at £30.
