Friday admission and BTCC parking next weekend!

The single biggest investment in the parking in Knockhill’s history is nearing completion with approximately £40000 being spent on the creation of new on- site car parks and the installation of 1500m of internal roads within the hillside grass car parks.

Circuit Manger Ian Forrest said “What the ground staff have achieved this spring and summer with the improvements to the spectator viewing bankings and car parking is amazing. In my time here, we have never spent more on improvements to the car parks, some 1500 tonnes of stone has been laid in a network of internal roads which will mean that visitors will drive on a hard surface road right up to the point of parking on the grass car parks. It will be significantly easier for fans to get in and out of the venue.”

Circuit Director Stuart Gray added, “The venue has really come on this year and has never looked better both off track and on track too. We received fantastic feedback after the Superbikes earlier this year with the improved viewing and safety works and the roads network should mean that we can park more cars more quickly. We still need visitors to follow the instructions of all stewards over the weekend, but we really do feel that getting everyone in and out should be easier this year”.

The event starts with the practice sessions for all the support classes from 10am next Friday allowing fans to get up close and personal with all the teams and cars. The BTCC cars take to the track in anger on Saturday 25th, but on Friday, a number of the BTCC drivers will be on site, so there is a chance to get autographs and photographs ahead of the race weekend.
