Jap car fever, invades Knockhill

Total Jap Car Scotland in association with Total Car Magazines rolled into Knockhill Racing Circuit today (Sunday 19th August). The show, another of our highly popular themed Hot Hatch events witnessed a whole host of drivers take to the circuit and ample more showcasing their vehicles in the Club area.

Indeed in excess of 200 show cars lined the paddock from various clubs throughout Scotland, highlighting not only the diversity, but scale of Clubs available to potential members. Today’s event however was all about the Japanese models.

Step forward JMD Prestige, CIV Info, Ayrshire Scobbies, Scottish Scoobies, Kinghorn Garage, MLR, Scottish Scoobies, MKIV Supra Owners, Skyline Owners and the aptly named Team Sushi. A huge thanks from everyone at Knockhill for taking time out to come here today to showcase your cars.

Elsewhere, an event at Knockhill wouldn’t be the same without action on the track. No less than 168 cars took to the circuit with their drivers eager to show their driving prowess to the gathered fans. Scores of Subarus, Evos, Nissans, Mazdas, Hondas and the occasional other marquee could be seen circulating all day.

There was also some lunchtime entertainment with free drag and drifting sessions and Team ScotDrift added a touch of panache with a superb drifting display. 30 or so Westfield Sports Car Club members even managed to slot in a dedicated session during proceedings.

Stuart Gray, Knockhill Events Director commented:

“The Hot Hatch scene at Knockhill has always been popular, but the themed shows over the past few years have certainly added a different dimension to these events. I must congratulate our team, all those participating clubs and Total Car Magazines for their dedication and support this year.”

The next themed Hot Hatch event takes place on Sunday 16th September and this time we are teaming up with the chaps from Performance French Car magazine. So if you’ve got a French built car and want to participate, log onto our website for more info.
