Shedden looking for some good fortune on home soil!

After an unfortunate outing at Snetterton Circuit last time out. Fifer, Gordon Shedden is looking forward to his home round of the MSA British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill, this weekend.

Shedden is currently down South making the final preparations to his NGTC Honda Civic ahead of a bumper weekend on home turf. Shedden however, still remains grateful to his colleagues at Honda Racing for giving him any sort of car to race a week ago, when his Honda Civic was engulfed in flames during Saturday’s qualifying session at Snetterton. The resulting damage,  looked to all, as if it would ruin his weekend before it had even started.

“The guys did an unbelievable job piecing the car back together. To have any kind of car, given the damage, to race was a miracle, but to have a competitive one was just beyond belief.

“Although the results didn’t quite go our way, and the disqualification in the last race just added insult to injury. I’m heading to my home track full of enthusiasm and belief that we can have a strong weekend.

“The Honda should go well, it’s fabulous through the corners and Knockhill should suit us. I guess it all depends on where the boost levels end up. At Snetterton, some cars were 7mph faster than the Honda in a straight line, which is massive in motor sport terms. But if we can get ourselves together and enjoy a bit of luck, we could be in for a good weekend. But as we all know, it’s Touring Cars and anything can happen,” concluded Shedden.

Alongside the main Touring Car action, this weekend sees Knockhill celebrate its 20th Anniversary in hosting the BTCC. There will be famous cars and drivers from those 20 years with double BTCC Champion, John Cleland topping the bill.

Elsewhere, in an action-packed programme there will be Porsche Carrera Cup, Ginetta Supercup, Ginetta Junior, Scottish Mini and Scottish Classic Sports and Saloon racing. Action takes place throughout the weekend with testing on Friday for many classes (Free Entry), BTCC qualifying and support class racing on Saturday (Tickets required) and of course, the main event, takes place on Sunday with three BTCC races and seven support races.

Tickets can be bought in advance via Knockhill.com or can be purchased at the gate each day.
