New formats, new faces and new frontiers for Hottrax at Knockhill

Hottrax bike racing made its first visit to Knockhill in several years this weekend and duly provided some thrilling entertainment for racing fans. On Saturday 9th August, Knockhill witnessed the return of Endurance Racing to the International circuit, and it was a Scots pairing who stole the plaudits in a mammoth 3hr racing extravaganza.

The Scotbeen Racing duo of Jim Laing and Kenny Paterson completed a staggering 189 laps, between them, to claim the on-the-road ACU Sorrymate.com National Endurance Championship win ahead of Team Sorrymate.com and Tech Group Racing.  Laing and Paterson averaged 81.72mph over the course of their 3hr marathon racing-stint; that included multiple transponder changes and pit stops.

Elsewhere, in the PowerSport, PowerBike and Michelin Power Cup races, MCN roast tester, Michael Neeves made the perfect start to his weekend, with opening race victory aboard his BMW S1000RR ahead of some Scots competitors. KMSC and Scottish Championship regular, Scott Shand then claimed the second victory of the weekend before another KMSC regular, Callum Paterson, bagged a brace of wet-wins today.

In the ProTyre Modern Classic with Fuchs Silkolene Championship races Mark Dicken helped himself to 4 on-the-road victories, with Adam Reeve claiming a solitary rebuke to Dicken’s dominance. There was indeed several class wins for  other riders in these multi-class races, with Stuart Hamilton (Angus) claiming multiple wins aboard his Kawasaki ZXR400 in the Formula 400 class.

Another Scot, Bathgate’s, Brian Alexander claimed a couple of race wins in today’s Ducati Desmo Due action ahead of Jim Brian and Andrew Claridge. Whist, Matthew Lawson (West Malling) and Tim Sayers (Chesire) claimed the opening two race wins of the weekend on Saturday.
