Blondie Tribute band perform on track following BTCC

At this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car event, we’ll have a special Blondie Tribute Band – Dirty Harry – performing a live hour-long music set on the Knockhill track following the final BTCC race on Sunday 23rd August – in conjunction with our first-ever BTCC Touch-the-Track event.

The band – one of the best Blondie tribute acts in the world – will belt out some of the iconic bands’ most iconic tracks from their 40 year old back-catalogue including hits from their breakthrough 1978 album ‘Parallel Lines’ which reached #No.1 in the UK and #6 in the States.

There is no additional fee for the Concert or Touch-the-Track event other than your spectator admission ticket to the BTCC. Immediately after the final race of the day on Sunday 23rd August, the track access gates will be opened (Paddock Brae at the Hairpin and at Clark’s Corner) to allow spectators to flood onto the circuit for a track walk; additionally the Dirty Harry stage will be moved into position and after a few minutes set-up we’ll be underway with the hour-long gig.

Elsewhere, a number of food courts/vans/outlets will also be staying open for longer. So instead of rushing off and being caught in the exit process, sit back, enjoy some refreshments and reflect on all of the day’s highlights, whilst listening to some music.

We held a similar event at our MCE British Superbike event this year, which saw hundreds of fans enjoy walking the track and sampling the music, before heading home. So if you are coming, don’t rush off after the final race. Take a few moments to sample the after-show atmosphere, and who knows, you might be heading home with a BTCC bumper or two from around the track.

It is our hope that these additional measures/entertainment will allow spectators the opportunity to stagger their exit from Knockhill; allowing for a cleaner and faster exit process. There will also be a new traffic management plan; including a traffic light system in conjunction with Contraflow to speed up the exit.
