Today, marks just 16 days until BTCC raceday – sponsored by Lokring Northern (UK) – and we’ve teamed up with Laser Tools ace Aiden Moffat – who coincidently runs the number 16 on his Laser Tools A-Class Mercedes – to offer one lucky winner a Laser Tools socket and bit set (worth £66); and a pair of Sunday raceday tickets.
Aiden became the youngest racer in BTCC history when he took to the track at Knockhill almost three years ago – at the tender age of 16 years and 28 days – behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Cruze. That event, never quite went according to plan as mechanical gremlins hampered his debut weekend. That said though, the youngster returned for two further events that same year taking his first BTCC points-scoring finishes.
However, it was a switch to an all-new Mercedes A-Class aided by Ciceley Racing that saw Moffat’s true potential shine through, culminating in a pulsating display at Knockhill last year that saw him secure his maiden BTCC podium. Despite only taking fourth on the road following a dramatic race that saw him race toe-to-toe with triple World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx and Multiple BTCC Champion Matt Neal; Moffat was later promoted to 3rd for his first-ever BTCC podium, after Priaulx was demoted following a rather robust manoeuver – which also took place under yellow flags – on the youngster heading into Scotsman corner in the third and final race at Knockhill in 2015.

We can expect the same dramatic action when the series rolls back into Scotland in only 16 days time – 13/14 August. The Championship this year has been highly-competitive throughout with multiple race winners and multiple teams enjoying podium success. Throw in Knockhill’s unpredictable nature and we could be set for a classic weekend of BTTC action.
