So, with family rivalry all set to kick off this weekend between brothers-in-law Gordon Shedden (3 x BTCC Champion) and Rory Butcher (BTCC Newbie) we thought it would be a good idea to get them together for a little chat. And, where better to do that than on track at some of Knockhill’s most iconic corners.
Gordon has been a constant source of info for Rory throughout his career, whether it’s been for career advice or help with sponsorship, he’s always provided Rory with sound advice throughout – which has helped Rory forge a career in GT sports car racing in some of Europe’s top GT Racing Championships.
However, now that Rory has found himself sat alongside Gordon on the BTCC grid, the tone of the ever-helpful Shedden has shifted slightly. Car racers are a secretive bunch – especially quick ones. The little tricks and nuances they use to navigate a track quicker than anyone else are like gold dust and regardless of family ties there comes a point when the conveyor belt of information stops and sabotage begins.
