Luney marches on at Knockhill

Mark Luney in the SVA Imports/Cosworth Nissan 350Z once again showed his speed, consistency and ability to drown crowds in Pirelli tyre smoke as he romped to victory in Round 2 of the European Drift Championship. That’s two wins out of two now for Luney and the question is now: will anyone be able to stop the Northern Irish reigning Champion?

Luney admits this is one of his favourite tracks on the EDC calendar and you can see why. It’s dramatic, it’s challenging and it’s also highly rewarding if you get it right. Luney got it right all day just like he seems to be getting all of 2010 right so far.

In fact, there’s virtually nothing he’s done wrong behind the wheel yet with two back-to-back wins to prove it. The other EDC competitors may be hoping he does something wrong soon and you can bet that at Brands Hatch they’ll be pushing him hard in another feast of tyre-smoke and driving talent, trying to capitalise on the smallest error. But Luney doesn’t make errors, or does he? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to be at Brands Hatch on 27th June to see for yourself!

Although the European Drifting Championships only visits Knockhill once this year, there is other drifting action in 2010 at the Fife circuit. As part of the Streetcar Scotland event on the 26th September, the British Drifting Championships will take to the track. Featuring star performer and Boyzone singer Shane Lynch who visits Knockhill in various capacities this year. One of which will see him take the wheel of the celebrity Mini in the FFDR Scottish Mini Cooper Cup on the 21st August.
