BSB: Practice 3 Results

French teenager Loris Baz emerged from the third warm up session for the MCE British Superbike Championship, top of the time sheets. The Motorpoint Yamaha rider steered his Yamaha YZF-R1 around Knockhill in a time of 53.450 seconds.

Speaking afterwards on BSB radio the Frenchman said:

“The bike is feeling really good and every time l’m out on track l can feel my confidence building. We tested at Knockhill a few weeks back and had one dry day and one wet so l know my way around. The bike though, feels absolutely superb in the wet.

“I’m really looking forward to qualifying this afternoon and hopefully l can improve my times even further.”

Following Baz into second position was Alex Lowes, who just recently switched to the MSS Colchester Kawasaki team for the remainder of the season. In third was Tommy Hill on his Swan Yamaha race machine. Interestingly, Hill still remains the quickest rider this weekend due to the 52.810 he posted yesterday.

Championship leader, Shane Byrne had to be content with the 7th quickest time. Although Byrne did stay out longer than any of his closest rivals competing 28 laps. American rider John Hopkins had to settle for 24th place on the timesheets and has it all to do during qualifying this afternoon from 2.40pm onwards.

Advanced ticket discounts are still available for the BSB event via the Knockhill website. A box office collection service will be in operation for all tickets purchased from today onwards.

We very much hope to see you all here at Knockhill later this afternoon for what should be an intriguing Superbike qualifying session.
