Tommy aims to be ‘King of the Hill’ this weekend!

Surrey racer, Tommy Hill took time out from his BSB preparations today for a ‘wee jaunt’ to the top of Knockhill. The Swan Yamaha ace surveyed the circuit from above and set his sights on reigning supreme this weekend.

Currently lying 4th in the standings, Hill knows this weekend could be pivotal in his title challenge.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend. I was leading the championship at the start of the year. I scored a fastest lap and P1 in qualifying at Oulton, but hit some oil on track and injured myself.

“That set us back a little, but I’m with a great team and we’ve got an excellent bike this year, so podium credits have to be in our sights here at Knockhill”.

Tommy reckons his Tartan Army will be out in force this weekend, citing Scottish roots on his Mother’s side.

“My Mum has lots of relatives in Hawick, they’re all coming to support me this weekend, hopefully l can send them all back down the road, smiling,” said Tommy.

Hill won his first ever British Championship status race at Knockhill, has secured podium finishes here in Superbikes and claims the racing this weekend will be tightly contested.

“Knockhill’s a typical British track, tight and twisty. It’s very difficult to find an advantage out there so the times will be very close and the racing will be intense”.

Tickets for the MCE British Superbikes can be purchased via our event webpage. Tickets will also be available on the gate all weekend long.

We wish Tommy and his fellow BSB competitors the ‘Best of Luck’ this weekend!
