Aussie, Brookes fastest in free practice 3

Tyco Suzuki rider Josh Brookes guided his machine round the 1.3 mile circuit in a time of 52.786 seconds to secure victory in the final practice session of the weekend. Brookes now heads into qualifying later this afternoon (2.45pm) in the knowledge that he has been very consistent in dry and damp conditions.

“It’s strange that us Aussies go well in the wet.

“Sods law it will be dry tomorrow after being quickest in the wet,” exclaimed Brookes.

Elsewhere in the session, Michael Laverty continued his fine form by taking 2nd spot on the time sheets. The Samsung Honda rider will be no-doubt heading into qualifying later, full of confidence.

Michael Rutter pulled the MSS Bathams Kawasaki up into 3rd spot with a time of 52.954. Rutter, always seems to adapt well in changeable weather conditions and as a previous winner around Knockhill, will be eager to get back out track.

Swan Yamaha duo, Nori Haga and Tommy Hill took 4th and 5th places respectively, indeed Haga, making his debut at Knockhill this weekend, topped the time sheets heading into the final moments of the session. A superb effort, given the Japanese star has only had 2 previous practice sessions out on track and this, his first in damp conditions.

Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider Shane Byrne could only manage to post the seventh quickest time, ahead of him was Tyco Suzuki rider Alastair Seeley in 6th.

You can meet the BSB stars before qualifying this afternoon, during the BSB Pit Walk, scheduled to take place at 1pm today.

Tickets for today are available at the gate and advanced discounted tickets for tomorrow will be available until midnight tonight, with a box office collection service in operation.
