Our final themed Hot Hatch event of the year took place at Knockhill today (Sunday 18th August) all in association with Performance French Car Magazine. It’s the second time the globally distributed French car mag has supported the event and once again the show attracted some excellent French machinery to Fife from all over Scotand; and beyond.
Approximately 150 drivers headed headed out on track; in a vast array of machinery ranging from Renualt Clios to Mitsubishi Evos. A number of car clubs also made the journey to Fife including West Lothian Cruise, 106 Owners’ Club, Renfrewshire Modified and Cliosport. However, walking away with the coveted ‘Best Club Stand’ was Peugeot Sport Club (Scotland) who had a number of impressive models in their display.
There were also plenty of individual accolades up for grabs, with Rab Elliot taking the ‘Best Standard’ award, Chris Pellowe taking the ‘Best Modified’ and Bill Muirhead’s superb Renault 5 Turbo 2 taking the ‘Best in Show’. Elsewhere, during an online Facebook pole we quizzed our fans as to whether they preferred the old style Peugeot 205 GTi or its contemporary replacement; with an overwhelming majority, the old school GTi triumphed with approximately 95% of the vote.

Our next track and show event will take place on Sunday 1st September with Track Attack Live and Streetcar Scotland. An event, that will combine a number of on track disciplines including the final of the Super Lap Scotland Championship, 2 x two hour Hot Hatch sessions, pro/public drag and drift and of course, hundreds of show cars from all over Scotland.
