Local Celtic Speed Mini racers to star at BTCC this weekend.

The Celtic Speed Scottish Mini Cooper Cup will return to support the British Touring Car Championship this weekend.

Heading into the event Joe Tanner is leading the championship. Joe said, “I’m really looking forward to it, there should be a good crowd and hopefully the weather will be good. The Minis always put on a good show, last year they were probably the best race of the day. I have to play it cautiously because I’m leading the championship. Some people will just be competing in that round and really going for it but I need to think about the big picture.”

Fiona Wallace (pictured here with Joe Tanner)  will return to the Minis for the event, courtesy of energy drink Nae Danger. Fiona previously competed in the championship for three years and was Ladies Champion in 2011. She said, “I’m really excited to get back out in the Minis and it’s all thanks to Nae Danger.”

Fiona is looking forward to racing in front of the large crowds at the BTCC round. She said, “The atmosphere is amazing, all the Mini drivers want to race in that round of the championship. The support from the crowd is incredible.”
