Frank Biela’s Audi A4 Quattro arrives at Knockhill

As part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations we have one of the most iconic BTCC super touring cars on display this weekend. Frank Biela’s impressive Audi A4 Quattro, one of the mid-1990s most dominant Touring Cars, has arrived at the Circuit today.

A previous Knockhill race winner and Championship winning car, the 4×4 Audi still looks in mightily impressive condition. We asked Knockhill photographer, Iain Struthers to take some pictures of it and he couldn’t hide his excitement at seeing the iconic machine once again.

“God, l remember coming to watch that car when l was a young lad.

“I was just so excited to see it again, and l nearly wet myself when l actually got to sit inside it,” commented a jubilant Struthers.

Sturthers will no doubt be slightly embarrassed by featuring on the Knockhill website, but his enthusiasm and passion for historic BTCC cars will be more than matched by other BTCC fanatics this weekend.

An impressive line up of iconic cars will include John Cleland’s 1992 Vauxhall Cavalier, David Leslie’s Honda Accord, Anthony Reid’s Nissan Primera and Paul Radisich’s 1993 Ford Mondeo. We’ll also have a host of Scottish BTCC legends signing autographs on Sunday at the Dunlop Café.

So if you want to take a trip down memory lane and have a real passion for Touring cars of old, then get yourself to Knockhill this weekend! We’ll also have the small matter of three cracking BTCC races and some superb support racing for you to enjoy.

Tickets are available on the Knockhill website and further information about the event can be found here!
