Performance French Cars descend on Knockhill

Performance French Car Magazines rolled into Knockhill today to celebrate all that is beautiful with modified French cars. Essentially a themed Hot Hatch, of which there has been several over the course of this year, allows various makes and models to be celebrated on and off track.

This time around though, it was all about models from French manufacturing giants Renault, Peugeot and Citroen. Many a Clio, Megane, 205 and Saxo could be seen throughout the venue. The top of the crop though belonged to the boys and girls from Peugeot Ecosse.

Their immaculate green Peugeot 106 walked away with the Car of the Show award. Other notable winners included Chris Pellowe’s 306 (Best Modified), Rab Elliot’s 22 year old 205 (Best Interior) and Gillian Robertson’s Megane Sport (Show ‘n’ Shine).

As well as on track sessions, in which almost 120 drivers participated, there were French Groups and Clubs all showcasing their best models. Our themed Hot Hatch events provide an excellent opportunity for modifiers throughout Scotland to converge in one location to meet fellow enthusiasts.

Stuart Gray, Knockhill Events Director commented:

“We’re really delighted that Performance French Car Magazines have come to Scotland today.

“The car modification scene in Scotland is buoyant at the moment and we are delighted that so many French car owners’ came here today to join the celebrations.

“Hopefully we’ll see some of them return to the Streetcar Scotland event here on the 30th September. Although there will be no track driving sessions at this event, it is more than compensated with some superb British Drifting Championship action.”

Before the BDC arrive at the end of the month, we still have another Scottish Championship Car Racing event to host on (Sunday 23rd September). Tickets for both the SMRC and Streetcar/BDC event can be purchased right now on the Knockhill website. Tickets will also be available at the gate during both events.

Hopefully we’ll see some of you return over the coming weeks.
