They met with the circuit’s Stuart Gray to discuss the final lay-out of the proposed 10 Special Stages which will be run over Saturday and Sunday of 16/17 May.

The proposed lay-out will comprise a modified route using the high speed tarmac race track along with a more twisting and challenging ‘off-track course’.

With 39 cars starting at 30 second intervals this will ensure plenty of thrills and high speed on-stage action for assembled fans. In addition, eleven youngsters aged between 14-17 will also get to sample the same stage miles as Meeke and co. as part of the Brick & Steel Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge.

The first Rally action will take place early-doors on Saturday morning as competitors and their co-drivers participate in scruitineering – come along and see the like of Meeke, Blomqvist, Shedden and Alister MacRae at close quarters in the Knockhill paddock ahead of the ceremonial start scheduled for 1pm.

The Rally action will continue throughout the afternoon (stages 1-5); interspersed with parade laps and demonstrations of some of the most iconic rallying machinery ever to be gathered in Scotland. International stunt-driver Terry Grant will also be on hand to demonstrate his world-renowned skills in paddock two and on-track. Additionally, in paddock two, there will also be an opportunity for spectators to sample the world of Autotesting – courtesy of the Maximum Attack Autotest team.

Saturday evening will see a Rally Forum take place in the Champions’ Clubhouse – situated in the main paddock at Knockhill – from 7pm onwards, and will feature star names like Jimmy and Alister McRae, Kris Meeke, Stig Blomqvist and a selection of other stars. The forum may take place outside – dependent on the weather.

Sunday will see stages 5 – 10 of the McRae Rally Challenge take place with the winners’ ceremony taking place at the Pirelli Ramp in paddock two at the end of the day. Autograph sessions, parade laps, demonstrations, Autotest competition, Rally Shoot-out and stunt shows will again add their own brand of entertainment to the day.
