Knockhill Armed Forces and all-new NHS Appreciation Day

Knockhill Racing Circuit will be hosting their annual Armed Forces Appreciation event on Sunday 10th October 2021. This event will see Armed Forces personnel, both serving and veteran, receive FREE admission to the Scottish Championship Car Racing event (12pm -6pm) and any accompanying members of their party can receive entry to the venue for the concession price (£10).

Additionally, the Circuit have decided to offer the same incentive to any NHS personnel and their families. We all know that NHS staff have all been under immense pressures over the last 18 months and this is our way of saying thank you by giving them a FREE DAY at the races to enjoy the best of Scottish Championship race action as the SMRC competitors compete at Knockhill for the penultimate time in 2021. Again, any NHS personnel will receive FREE entry and any additional members for their party can receive admission to the event for the concession price; with all kids under the age of 12 year olds also going free.

A sample of what to expect on the day…

In order to enjoy a day out on us, the NHS workers, and serving or veterans of the Armed Forces should show their ID card, or proof of service in the Armed Forces at the gate on the day to redeem this special offer.

Knockhill, were proud to be awarded the Gold Covenant by General Sir Nick Carter, Head of General Staff, in November 2019, one of only 100 companies in the UK to receive the award that year in recognition of our commitment to the Armed Forces. We look forward to welcoming both Armed Forces and NHS personnel to Knockhill for a spot of entertainment on Sunday 10th October – please spread the word if you know someone who may be eligible and who may wish to attend the event free of charge.

Stuart Gray, Director of Events for Knockhill commented:

“The debt of thanks we all owe our NHS staff in the last 18 months is incalculable with the effects of the pandemic. We all know they were stretched prior to March 2020 but their resilience and dedication in the face of the effects of Covid-19 matches the traits of our Armed Forces in time of conflict. We owe the NHS and our Armed Forces so much and our Appreciation Day for both sectors is our way of saying thank you.”

The action will start at midday with a busy afternoon of action in store, all the way through to approximately 5.30pm. The action on track will feature various classes and machinery including Mini Cooper Cup, Formula Ford and Classic racing amongst others. The SMRC events are always entertaining and Knockhill provides a safe, outdoor environment to enjoy some thrilling race action whilst maintaining that all-important social distance.

Tickets for the event can be booked online or they can be purchased on the day at the gate. Please remember to bring some form of ID, so you can receive the FREE admission and the additional members of your group can access the event for the concession price.

Hope to see you all soon!
