Sustainability

The management team at Knockhill are dedicated to protecting our future, the future of our customers and our local community.  We have, over a number of years, taken a very proactive approach to being sustainable, an approach that is ingrained in our ethos of delivering events and activities at Knockhill.

In February 2025, the Knockhill Motorsports Club was awarded the Sustainability Club of the Year in the UK, two of it's three championships were carbon offset, working with acclaimed company Carbon Positive Motorsport, and the International McRae Rally Challenge was 200% offset with Scottish regeneration projects invested in.

2026 will see a mix of continuing actions, such as on-site energy production and offsetting emissions, as well as new initiatives instigated, focusing on waste management.

We have always considered our beautiful countryside and developed the venue with a focus on the natural landscape, and will continue this belief, working with our sustainable partner CATACLEAN.

TREE PLANTING

TREE PLANTING

  • Since 1983, the business has worked with the Forestry Commission to plant 9.6 hectares of trees in 7 locations across the 220 acre venue.  Tree planting continues year on year including a programme in 2021 & 22 with BTCC driver Rory Butcher.
  • The development of the venue has been done sympathetically to maximise the views of the Fife countryside, the Firth of Forth and beyond.
  • Areas of land have been set aside for natural regeneration.
