RYDE REIGNS AT DONINGTON AS COUNTDOWN TO KNOCKHILL BSB BEGINS!

The ZYN British Superbike Championship served up an absolute thriller at Donington Park for Round 2, setting the stage perfectly for the championship's highly anticipated annual trek north of the border to Knockhill on 19th – 21st June.

It was a sensational weekend for local hero Kyle Ryde, who truly ruled his home turf. Riding for Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing, the reigning champion claimed a spectacular Sunday double victory, breaking lap records and securing the coveted 'King of Donington' crown.

Ryde had to fight tooth and nail against a fiercely competitive field. Former MotoGP star Scott Redding showed he is well and truly back in standard BSB form, pushing Ryde to the limit on his Hager PBM Racing Team Ducati to take a brilliant hat-trick of podiums over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Max Cook also enjoyed a career-best weekend, securing a treble podium of his own aboard the AJN Steelstock bimota.

Scotland’s own Rory Skinner put in a strong, resilient shift on the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha, securing valuable top-10 finishes (including a 7th place in the final feature race) as he builds up brilliant momentum for his home round.

With Ryde now leading the championship standings by 19 points over Redding, the battle lines have been officially drawn.

Now, all eyes turn to Fife. Next on the calendar is Knockhill Racing Circuit on the 19th-21st June, and this year’s visit is bound to be extra special as Scotland’s National Motorsport Centre celebrates a historic 30 years of hosting the British Superbike Championship.
