Skinner and Shedden on top form again!
The two leading Scots in the ZYN British Superbikes and Touring Cars, Perth's Rory Skinner and Auchterarder's Gordon Shedden were both on the podium in their most recent championship rounds.
For Rory, it was a breakthrough moment at Cadwell Park as he won away from his home track for the first time. The double Knockhill winner led home championship leader, and double BSB champ, Kyle Ryde by over 2 seconds, with legend Leon Haslam coming home third. The joy for Rory was plain for all to see as his relief of winning away from Knockhill. Unfortunately this was short-lived has he had "off's" in the following two races which took a bit of the shine off his Saturday achievements.
For Knockhill hero Gordon "Flash" Shedden, Croft proved a challenging event but some strong drives saw him achieve his 5th podium visit of the season so far with a 3rd in the final race at Croft. The result sees him 10th in the overall Drivers Championship and 2nd to Mikey Doble in the chase for Independents title. For Flash, two rounds remain with the Silverstone National Circuit at the end of September with the finale on the Brands GP configuration in October.
For Rory, he now lies 201 points behind runaway championship leader Kyle Ryde with a visit to the Dutch circuit of Assen next weekend.
