The Kwit Fir British Touring Car Championship comes back to Knockhill for another thrill-a-minute race meeting around the undulating twists dips of Knockhill. It was great to open our doors to fans last year and we hope many more will make the trip to Fife in 2022.

Event Summary

For over 60 years, the British Touring Car Championship has been regarded as one of the best saloon car racing championships in the world. 2022 will be no different, however, it will also mark the dawn of the new hybrid era for thr BTCC. Top professional race teams with some of the best racing drivers do battle at up to 140mph throughout a packed grid of Toyotas, Hondas, BMWs, Fords, Infinitis, SEATs and more.

In 2022, this top quality event returns on July 30th and 31st as Britain’s premier racing series tackles the twists and dips of the Knockhill Circuit. The new engine regualtions are designed to spice up the overtaking even more, if that is possible, with what is already one of the most action-packed championships in the world.

Tickets are available now, so come and enjoy the thrilling, awesome and hugely impressive Kwik Fit British Touring Cars and cheer on a few local heroes too!

Event Info

Exhilarating racing action is guaranteed - with practice, qualifying and 15 races to entertain and enthral over the weekend of 30th & 31st July. The unique nature of the Knockhill track promotes the closest racing of the season with cars often airborne as they attack the famous Duffus Dip and Blackcircles Chicane. In 2021, top drivers such as Turkington, Butcher, Sutton, Shedden, Moffat and Ingram did battle over three 24 lap races on the main event day, just imagine watching 72 laps of Touring Cars in action! It’s the best value BTCC event in the UK!

Here’s how the weekend pans out - Action starts early on Saturday 30th July with warm up sessions for all classes before the fast and furious qualifying session, as the BTCC competitors chase the last 1/1000th of a second to snatch pole position from their rivals. Saturday continues with support races, but the undoubted highlight is watching a packed grid of BTCC cars scrabbling to find that gap in the traffic to set their ultimate lap in qualifying.

On Sunday 31st July (the main feature race day) it's another action-packed day for you as it features exhilarating hard-charging support class racing and three feature races for the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. Come for the weekend or just come for the main event day, the choice is yours but what you are in for is the best of British motorsport, if not some of the best motorsport in the world, all at one of the best spectator viewing circuits in the UK!
