The wait is almost over. The 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship kicks off this weekend at Oulton Park, setting the stage for what could be one of the most competitive seasons in years.
The final pre-season test at Oulton Park gave fans a taste of what’s to come, with reigning champion Kyle Ryde setting the benchmark pace ahead of the opening round.
Ryde topped the combined timesheets with a late flying lap, narrowly edging out Scott Redding and Bradley Ray after a fierce battle between three of the championship’s leading names.
The order shifted throughout the two-day test, with Storm Stacey leading the way on day one and Ray showing strong early pace, underlining just how close the field could be when the racing begins for real.
Ducati machinery also looked strong, with multiple bikes inside the top five, while experienced names including Glenn Irwin and Leon Haslam were firmly in the mix.
There was also plenty for Scottish fans to be excited about, with Rory Skinner showing strong form ahead of the new season. Rory featured regularly towards the sharp end of the timing sheets and looks ready to be part of the fight as the championship gets underway.
