The final pre-season ZYN British Superbike Championship test at Oulton Park delivered a highly competitive two-day showcase ahead of the 2026 opener, with reigning champion Kyle Ryde setting the benchmark pace.
Ryde topped the combined timesheets with a late 1:32.913 lap, narrowly edging out Scott Redding and Bradley Ray following an intense battle between the leading trio. The order remained fluid throughout, with Storm Stacey leading day one and Ray setting the early pace, underlining just how competitive the field is heading into the new season. Ducati machinery also showed strong form with multiple bikes inside the top five, while Glenn Irwin and Leon Haslam were consistently in the mix.
Scotland’s Rory Skinner enjoyed a positive and progressive test with Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha, running consistently inside the top ten. He improved across the two days, placing as high as sixth in a session on day two before finishing eighth overall, making him the second-fastest Yamaha rider and well placed for the season ahead.
Across the support classes, Scottish riders delivered a series of standout performances. In the Pirelli British Sportbike Championship, Adon Davie led the way with consistently strong pace among the front runners, while Lennon Docherty showed steady progression across the sessions to secure a solid overall result.
The Pirelli National Superstock Championship proved a highlight, with Declan Connell topping the overall test standings after an impressive display of speed and consistency across both days. He was joined by fellow Scot Lewis Rollo (Motorrad Central Dalkeith), who also impressed with a composed and competitive performance, including a session-topping run, securing an overall podium finish and underlining his strong pre-season form.
In the Quattro Group British Supersport classes, Oliver Barr demonstrated front-running potential with a confident test, regularly featuring towards the top of the timesheets. In the Supersport Cup, Keo Walker showed great determination to deliver a consistent performance across the sessions, securing a strong overall result.
The next generation of Scottish talent also made their mark. Jack Dunabie produced a consistent and competitive showing in the R&G Moto4 British Cup, while Tyler Humphries continued his development with a solid test, building pace and gaining valuable experience across the two days. In the 1P Mobile Junior Sportbike Championship, Marley Mackenzie stood out with a dominant performance, topping the overall standings and laying down an early marker ahead of the new season.
With strong performances across all classes and momentum building throughout the paddock, Scotland’s riders head into the 2026 British Superbike Championship in confident form, ready to challenge from the very first round on May 2nd - 4th at Oulton Park. Knockhill is round three on June 19th - 21st and if this form continues, we may see Saltires flying and hear "Scotland the Brave" over the speakers around the Circuit.
